Further developing Jacobs' Flood Products to tackle Australia's toughest challenges
It’s no secret Jacobs have a large team of flood engineers and hydrologist across Australia, but did you know they also have a digital team that develop out-of-the-box flood management software tools?
If not, it is understandable. Up until recently, the digital team were focused on fine tuning our flood products to serve the UK water industry. Today, we are committed to support water experts in Australia working on some of the biggest flood problems in the world.
We recognise that being a stormwater or flood engineer in Australia is a tough gig. The pressure is increasing to not only know how water behaves in complex conditions but to also speak fluent python or other coding languages and to be at the forefront of technology advancements – how many CUDA cores do I need again? Now if you are one of those people that love building your own tools we get it – keep going or maybe even checkout our careers page!
Jacobs’ Flood Products aim to reduce the technology burden with out-of-the-box solutions allowing water experts to get back to focusing on what they truly care about – water.

We are currently working on providing better support for undertaking integrated catchment studies across Australia. Sophia recently joined the team to provide more local software support, training and utilise her product management experience to further develop our solutions to better the needs of Australia. She has a background in flood modelling for both the public and private sectors and spent the past 8yrs working with software solutions across the globe. She is excited to be back focusing on Australia and the stormwater and flood industry where she started.
